Melody Smith is a highly acclaimed portrait photographer based in Petersburg, Virginia, with over 30 years of experience. Her journey into photography began with weddings, but after photographing more than 300 weddings, she decided in 2012 to follow her true passion: portrait photography, specifically focusing on women of all ages. She transitioned her studio into what is now known as Melody Smith Portrait, where she offers a unique and deeply transformative experience.

 

Melody’s portrait studio is renowned for offering clients more than just photos. Each session is designed to bring out the natural beauty and personality of every individual. She provides an all-inclusive experience that includes wardrobe selection, professional hair and makeup, and expertly directed posing to make each client feel like a work of art. Melody’s passion stems from her personal journey of overcoming self-image challenges. After years of struggling with self-confidence, she now empowers other women to see their beauty and strength through her lens. She lives in Prince George County with her husband, Mike, her son, Perrin, and their beloved oriental Siamese, Mr. Tumnus.
