She Raises Chickens, Travels to the Islands, and Lives Every Bit of It Out Loud.

There are women who live quietly
and women who live fully.
Millie is DEFINITELY the second kind.

She homesteads in Chesterfield, Virginia raising chickens, tends livestock, grows things with her hands. She travels to the islands when the seasons call for it. She makes TikTok videos with her oldest daughter just because it makes them both laugh. She's an herbalist, a frequency raiser, a fierce lover of the people in her life. She is, in every sense, a woman who shows up.
And then she came to the studio.
She came during what she described as a difficult season. Not broken, no one is ever truly broken, but in the middle of something.
The kind of in-between that asks you to take stock of who you are and what you're made of.
She was nervous walking in.
That's not unusual.
Most women are.
The camera has a way of making people feel like they need to be ready, like they need to be a finished version of themselves before they can be photographed. What Millie found instead was permission to just breathe.

Her session was a combination of boudoir and portrait work celebrating two very different energies that together tell a complete story.
Strong and soft. Grounded and open. Exactly who she is.

When she saw her portraits at her reveal appointment, she cried.
In her own words:
"What I saw was someone strong and soft at the same time. Someone grounded, unafraid, and deeply aligned with who she is. These images reflect a season of becoming. Not someone perfect, just truth. I
walked away with a level of peace and confidence I didn't know I needed."

That is the work.
Not the lighting. Not the wardrobe.
Not the technical craft...
even though all of that matters.
The work is creating the conditions where a woman in her mid-50s, in the middle of a hard season, can walk into a studio in Historic Old Town Petersburg and walk out with portraits that remind her of who she actually is.

Millie lives in Chesterfield. She drove to Petersburg for this. Women from Chesterfield, Midlothian, Richmond, and across Central Virginia make that drive regularly because this kind of experience doesn't exist everywhere.

If you've been in your own season of becoming or maybe if something in Millie's words landed somewhere real, the consultation is the place to start.
It's a casual conversation, no pressure, no obligation. Just a chance to talk about what you want to feel when you see yourself.
Sessions begin at $489
and include
professional hair, makeup, and styling.
Portraits are purchased separately at your private reveal appointment.
